EQ-5D Visual Analogue Scale
Quality of life assessment
The EQ-5D is a family of health questionnaires used to assess quality of life. This tool only takes a few minutes to complete and has been translated into most major language.
It consists of descriptive system to evaluate five health dimensions (mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression) and depending on the version has three or five levels of severity response options. It also includes a visual analogue scale (VAS) to record the patient's self-reported health state on a 0-100 vertical visual analogue scale, whereby 0 indicates "the worst health you can imagine" and a score of 100 represents "the best health you can imagine"
